Dear Ada,

Congratulations on the 10th anniversary of IFLAC! It has been an honour to serve as webmaster of your homepage all these years. It has given me the opportunity to read through much of your poems and books, to make a selection and present it on the web.

Two of my favourite poems are THIS CURSED WAR and REMEMBER ME EVERY TIME THE MOON RISES OVER THE SPHINX, that you wrote, inspired by diaries found on fallen Israeli and Egyptian soldiers during the Yom Kippur War in 1973.

As you say in your article The Power of the Poem and Peace Through Poetry, "In every conflict there are two stories. The Poem of Peace has the wonderful ability to understand both sides, and to present both sides in all its reality, pain, hope and yearning for peace."

Happy birthday, IFLAC!

Warm regards,
Solveig

Dear Amanda,

I congratulate you for your original online critical book group project,
when you give us the address of the Wiki, I will try to answer your
questions more profoundly. But for the moment, I would like to stress
that children's literature, films and videos can do a great deal in
educating for love instead of hatred, peace and justice, instead of violence and war, and in overcoming prejudice, racism and sexism, and lack of respect for the culture of others..

I suggest one of my books for children on this subject, titled: THE PEACE FLOWER (www.amazon.com). I hope you can include it in your list of books.
You can read about it on amazon. It has been translated into many languages, and is used in several schools around the world for teaching peace, love and justice to children.
You are warmly invited to
visit the IFLAC site at: www.iflac.com
and my own Homepage at: www.iflac.com/ada

With all best wishes for your worthy project

Dear Ada,
THE HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST!
Once again you have 'wowed' me! You WOWed me with your wonderful
hospitality, the wonderful view from your marvelous home, your beautiful
flower arrangements, the Swan poem in the photography book...AND:

I don't know if you noticed, but your poem [From Haifa to Cairo] totally
blew me away. I wrote down the quote you mentioned from Sadat [I was
already living in Israel by then!], and when you read your poem, my eyes
swelled up with tears when you got to the phrase "soldier sons". It was all
I could do to keep myself from bursting into tears from emotion, and you may
have noticed I was wiping my eyes after you read it.

I don't know how you do all the wonderful things you do. I totally admire everything about you and wish you continued success in everything you do.
Thanks again for a memorable evening.

Love
phyllsie

My dear new friend Ada Aharoni,
Thank you so much for responding my email. You can not imagine what does a truthful word to my soul. It could make my tear "clean my eye" but , more importantly, it could nourish my mind, heart and soul with some pure oxygen that I keep on chasing every now and then.

I'm thankful to the [genius] people of the web[site] for making my contact with good people like you, dear Ada, possible!

Thank you so much for inviting me to write some of my modest thoughts on IFLAC. I do not know if I deserve it !

Your kind request to link my "little garden" JFJAW to IFLAC made me feel happy. I'm flattred. Thank you so much for your trust!

Attached, sending you some detailed lines about what I do in general so we can both share ideas on how we can combine our efforts to 1 - promote the value of Peace in the Region/Globe for our right to a sane life 2 - make
our common mission i.e. IFLAC's petition and JFJAW finds ears at the world's leaders for a real reconciliation.

Until I receive your thoughtful feedback, please accept my dear friend, Ada, my warmest regards.

[Smile For Peace!

Poetry, my dear friends, is a sacred incarnation of a smile.

Poetry is a sigh that dries the tears.
Poetry is a spirit who swells in the soul,
whose nourishment is the heart,
whose wine is affection.

Poetry that comes not in this form is a false messiah.
